  • Poland Pavilion breaks the ground

    More than 250 guests attended the ground-breaking ceremony of the EXPO 2010 Poland Pavilion that took place on August 4th, 2009 in Shanghai. The Pavilion, designed by young Polish architects, is inspired by folk paper cutting crafts and is widely recognized as an excellent example of modern eclectic trends in the Polish architecture.

    Establishment of the Polish state is dated for the year 966. Already from the mid 15th century, Poland was a democratic state.
    For many centuries, Poland was a major European power, combining many nations and many cultures. It was also a bridge between the east and west of Europe.
    In view of its location at the very heart of the continent, for centuries it constituted an important economic center – crossed by numerous trade routes linking Europe with Asia and the North with the South.
